Winnie Pooh
Winnie-the-Pooh, affectionately known as Pooh Bear, is a beloved fictional teddy bear crafted by the renowned English author A. A. Milne. The character first captured hearts in the timeless collection of tales titled Winnie-the-Pooh, published in 1926, which was soon followed by another enchanting book, The House at Pooh Corner, in 1928. Notably, Milne's earlier works also featured delightful poems about Pooh in the children's verse book When We Were Very Young (1924) and further in Now We Are Six (1927). All four volumes were exquisitely illustrated by E. H. Shepard, adding to their enduring charm.
The stories of Pooh have been translated into numerous languages, showcasing the bear's universal appeal. Among them, the Latin version, Winnie ille Pu, translated by Alexander Lenard, gained special recognition by becoming the only Latin book to feature on The New York Times Best Seller list in 1960.
